About this Project

February 3, 2019, marked the Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosting of Super Bowl LIII. As the city of Atlanta prepared to welcome visitors, its public safety sector was galvanizing to optimize functionality to ensure that its initiatives in preparation for any emergencies involving the influx of football fans were functional.

Legwork Plumbing Solutions was awarded the plumbing portion of the contract with the city of Atlanta. Funding for the contract was provided under the Renew Atlanta Infrastructure Bond Program, budgeted at $250 Million.

Fire Station 1 was scheduled for immediate renovations. This project presented a challenge for the city, as it was the first vertical project of its kind. With super bowl festivities quickly approaching and AFRD 1 being adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Legwork was tasked with an ambitious deadline for completion…we made it a top priority.

Technical Details

Legwork Plumbing Solutions plumbing system renovations consisted of:

commercial kitchen build out and upgrades: complete gut and renovations of the community kitchens
bathroom modifications
turnout gear laundry center upgrades to meet NFPA 1851 standards
underground plumbing
new gas lines for engine bay
oil separator drain repair for apparatus bay
